Ford Transit ASM gearbox problems

The Ford Transit ASM gearbox is a five-speed automatically shifting manual available on Transit VJ-series models. It is most commonly found on ex-Australia Post vehicles where it was seen as advantageous in the sort of stop-start driving you have to do as a postie.

However, it often didn’t work very well and many owners have experienced problems with the Ford Transit ASM gearbox.
